What started initially as a place for parents with children to meet other parents with children soon evolved into the village Play group. Changes in care and education over the years have meant that the Play group evolved and it is now the Pre-school, run by a team of volunteer Directors plus fully qualified staff, and is inspected by Ofsted.

At our last Ofsted inspection in December 2018 we were rated Good in all areas!

Chudleigh Knighton Pre-school is a happy, professionally run Pre-school. We provide an educational environment for children from the age of 2 to school age with child initiated learning activities. Children learn at their own pace, through play and social interaction.

The Pre-school operates out of a purpose built building in a countryside setting. We encourage the children to bring their wellies and coats during the cooler months to make the most out of our outside space. We do Welly Walk Wednesdays to explore the community, and love to be outside in the fresh air. Before Covid restrictions we also had Field Trip Fridays where we visited places like the local libraries and neighbouring towns, and we are looking forward to doing so again.

We currently employ 6 members of staff in the Pre-school. All members of staff have been checked through the 'Disclosure and Barring Service' and Ofsted and are fully qualified. We also employ an Administrator. The Pre-school is a Charitable Limited Company and has three directors who bring many strengths to the Pre-school. We provide quality care and education in our wonderful new setting.
